We are leaving for a little camping getaway for a few days. Been planning it for awhile, super excited!

I will be back next week with some stories and photos...

And until then, have a great one, all!

Sunshine

We got out for some hiking earlier this week - there are some gorgeous sunsets out here!
Shadow falling on us, anyway - we still got a photo of the two of us together :)
This is the waterfront close to our house.
We had some friends in town this weekend that were fun to catch up with - Michelle was a roommate of mine in college, ten years ago. Amazing how time flies!
They have two adorable kiddos. She gave lots of good advice to us when we become parents someday. I know we will never really truly be ready, but I do like to prepare...

Happy Monday, all!

Friday Fun

"TGIF" was all I could think about when the alarm went off this morning. I do live for weekends! We did have a great week though - I often measure it in amount of time spent laughing. At one point during dinner on Tuesday, I was laughing so hard that I had to spit my food out so I could breathe.

So great!

Matt is working on a final in between his ten hour shifts. I am working up the courage to tackle my yard.

On the calendar we eagerly await an upcoming family camping trip and the long Fourth of July holiday weekend. I will get two full days with Matt then, for which I am overjoyed. And he will get a little break from school! Woo!

Matt's folks are back in the USA and it brings a whole new level of fun into our home. Matt's dad is a hoot and has lots of funny stories. Matt's mom works ten hour shifts too, so she is loving the packed lunches that I make! We are uncertain how long the living situation will last, for we are hoping that Matt gets another promotion soon (that would enable us to move). For now, I am loving making huge student loan payments. I have no shame in mooching off the extra space his folks have! Plus, we enjoy each others' company. And, I enjoy their Costco purchases :)

Summer is looking spectacular. I have a super sweet fun husband, wonderful in-laws, a town in Washington state that gets more sunshine than rain, and some fun planned. There are never enough vacation days though, I have to say.

So that is the update for now - just same 'ole same 'ole. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Long Overdue Post

I have not had the best access to internet, or time to blog lately - my apologies! So here is a little catch up. This past weekend Matt and I celebrated three years of dating with a little whirlwind trip to Seattle. We stayed at the gorgeous Vintage Park Hotel (A Kimpton - very nice!) that was walking distance to Qwest Field where we would be catching the U2 show later that night!
We are like giddy kids when it comes to these kind of experiences :)
We sat in the nosebleeds but hey, our tickets were only $30! Woot.
We love a good concert and this was hands down one of the best we have ever attended. The weather was perfect, crowd lively, and music awesome.
There were 23 songs played and we sang along to almost all of them.
The set was over the top. Even Bono admitted that it was a "bit ambitious" but had never been done before. No matter where you sat, you had a good view!
We stayed up until 1am, just like we were college kids again. Walking back from the show, we talked about how much fun it was to have a getaway like this.
Sunday morning we caught the ferry from Seattle across the water to Bremerton. It is an hour long ferry ride, and has a stunning view! We got coffees from the on boat cafe, and strolled the deck.
While "on the Peninsula" as we like to call that side of the water, we visited some friends and family and then headed on the long drive home. It was a wonderful weekend!
I definitely have some more blogging material if I can pull it together soon. In the meantime, the weekend is almost here! WOOOOO!
