June!?

Woo time does fly! What a great weekend. I still don't have a functioning camera, but as soon as I do, I will be taking a lot of photos to make up for the severe lack of them this past month...

Friday was date night - we weathered a massive rainstorm to get fixin's to make pizza at home, and watched "The Notebook". Bawled our eyes out and then stayed up until midnight talking about life. I love those kind of heart-to-hearts...

Saturday was the Long Run. We have not kept up with the daily runs as much as we would like due to our busy schedules and crazy weather - so the 15 miler was a toughie. Matt had new shoes on and they left pancake-sized blisters on one foot. Not good! We survived the run, but both of us were hurting pretty bad by the end. Again, the trick is to talk about the C's: cars, computers, cell phones...it makes time fly for Matt :) We rested up all afternoon before going to church in the evening for the Saturday night service. A game night followed, so I got to watch Matt belt out some vocals for the Rock Band game. (He's good...)

Sunday was glorious. I knew we still had Monday to play with but I was so excited to get the house clean I could've done cartwheels. Matt tackled the garage and I did different projects here and there all day. We got free tickets to see a movie in the theater, so we went to see "Iron Man 2" in the evening - since Matt watched a chick flick with me, I figured it was only fair to see a macho man movie in exchange. It had some amazing special effects. Amazing how movies are made these days...

Monday I had off - thanks to Memorial Day. We had a huge breakfast and did more house projects: gathered some items for a church yard sale, cleaned out the laundry room, did some decorating (still working on that), and ran some errands. Some dear friends of ours that just had a baby came over briefly with their week-old newborn, and I spent an hour squealing over her. They asked if we wanted to babysit tonight for a couple hours so that they could have a little date out and we jumped at the chance. I am so excited!

So it was a great weekend. This week is still a busy one, but manageable. We will be celebrating this Sunday TWO years of dating and being reunited, one year since Matt proposed and seven months of marriage! Time flies when you are having fun :)

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Wasn't it great to have 3 days again...you are getting spoiled! I like your idea of one day for work and the other for play...except for retirement. Then, every day is play day! Enjoy babysitting tonite.

Oh my goodness--poor Matt and the blister. Ick! But, good for you guys going for the long run. :o)

I can't believe it's already June! My school's last day is tomorrow. Wow!!

I hope the babysitting was wonderful. There's nothing better than a new baby--especially one you can give back so you can get good sleep at night, lol! ;oP

Congrats on the 15 miler. What did you think of IronMan? We saw it on Friday and I loved it. Pepper Potts is my favorite :)
